In Mexico, around 34 thousand hectares of berries are cultivated, with an estimated production of 900 thousand tons per year, mainly grown in Jalisco, Michoacán, Baja California, Guanajuato and Sinaloa. What position does Mexico hold in the berry exportation?

According to data from the Ministry of Economy, berries occupy the third place in exports of agricultural products, after avocado and beer, with annual sales of around USD 2.4 billion, making Mexico one of the five biggest exporters of this product. However, the Aneberries (National Association of Berry Exporters) projects that by 2022 the total value of exports will exceed USD 3 billion.

  • Compliance with the quality standards of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
